Teach sex ed with soccer or Smartphones
Joe Cogan/Alive & Kicking
Alive & Kicking hand-stiches soccer balls into health educational tools; the balls in their programs bear simple health messages. And, they use soccer to educate young people about their health by training local coaches to deliver health education training drills to their teams.
Encourage a local soccer coach to travel to East Africa for two weeks to coach soccer for 12-18 year olds with Alive & Kicking's partner, TackleAfrica. This program uses soccer to deliver HIV education to young people on soccer fields across the continent.
Closer to home: Download the HookUp app on to your teen's Smartphone. It's a space where teens can ask questions anonymously — and get answers from volunteer experts and educators.
